Lo Stivale - Table reservation

Pleasant atmosphere and looked like an original Italian Restaurant but we were sadly disappointed. Ordering was slow and there was no enticing tidbits or nibbles while waiting for the main meal. No German wine was available on the wine menu which was quite strange being...in an important wine centre on the Rhein. No Riesling! Italian wines were available but they were mediocre. I ordered Lasagne but Cannelloni arrived! In fact it looked like lasagne but when I dug into it found Cannelloni was the surprise. Salad was disappointing, more liked chopped cabbage! When i spoke to the waiter I discovered he could neither speak italian and only basic German he was Albanian! Didn't appear to be an Italian or a German in evidence

This family friendly restaurant was very busy the night we visited and it is easy to see why. The food was of a high standard and at a very reasonable price. We were given very good service from our efficient waitress who provided us with...an English menu and some very helpful advice

Spaghetti bolognese was cheap and nasty. Tagliatelle with mushrooms the two mushrooms were excellent . The rest was awful. The atmosphere was depressing. Don't waste good money on this awful place
