"It has been years since we had a meal at the Linden, but we were glad to retry it last week. We were welcomed by kind and professional staff. Our main course (we only had one course) was on the table 20 minutes after we arrived. The dishes were well cooked and very tasty.We ate upstairs, outside on the balcony. Although this is next to a pretty busy intersection, the noise did not disturb our lovely meal.Definitely going back for more."

The Restaurant's Seasons Specials are either the 'Mezgete' which is butchering a pig (and serving blood and liver sausages from it as well as pan fried bacon and other parts of the pig) and Venison Season. We went for the Braised Venison (2 Servings) and the platter for 2 shown to us looked perfect and that was it. The platter was taken back into the kitchen or at least far out of site. The waitress was super efficient and friendly but only 2 service persons for a packed restaurant was just not enough as we had to look out for her most of the time.The deer was perfectly slow cooked but not enough seasoned. The accompanies where the big dissapointment for such an expensive dish! Not hot, unseasoned and the Brussels sprouts tasted as reheated over and over for days.The second serving took too long and the meat was barely warm, same for the veggies. The special sauce came hot though but didn't taste fresh or as special as we wished for a speciality as game.The place is known for other traditional dishes during the year. Guessing that these 'special weeks' are not one of the Chef's favorites.I will try to get back and try one of their regular dishes eventhough prices for far outside of Zurich are very high. There's always room for a better review, right?
Only one visit to this restaurant, which will hopefully be rectified!In season, all four of our party chose the wild garlic soup and were very pleased with our choice! For mains, the portions were extremely generous for all four of us, and I can highly recommend the fried perch (and rosti of course!). I gather the beef was superb also. I highly recommend leaving your dessert stomach free for the butterscotch pudding as well - superb. As is to be expected in Switzerland, prices are high relative to the UK, but a worthy end to a visit to Zurich. Highly recommended.
The environment at Linde is cozy and well-designed to give you the authentic, traditional Swiss dining experience. The food is very good, and wine selection of local wines from Weiningen is excellent! On top of everything, the staff is friendly and eager to accomodate special food-needs. The portions are very big, so make sure you do not eat much the day before going there- you can always take a walk through the lovely little town of Weiningen after dinner to digest :)
Became aware of the restaurant through motorhome dinners! We received a very friendly welcome and were able to sample the incredibly fine cuisine! There's something on the menu for everyone! Our dog was also warmly welcomed and immediately given a bowl of water and Guetzini ! After the delicious food and wine, we were able to spend the night in our motorhome in the parking lot ! PS: Be sure to eat the LINDE Spätzli, they are super delicious
