"We ate there last night and found the food superb and the service excellent. Of all the restaurants in the area it was the best. The owner/chef drove us home and we left the car to collect the next day. When we arrived to collect the car, the restaurant was open for lunch and we couldn't resist. Wonderful lunch! Next time we are in the area we will return for sure."

Based on the TA.fr reviews (which is so much more reliable and informed than TA.com), we ate here on a recent visit to the Ile. From the outside, the restaurant looks more like a roadside diner. But the transformation couldn’t be more different on stepping inside. The views across the salt marshes are spectacular, especially at sunset. The food is excellent too. Every course was imaginative with perfectly cooked seafood. The waiting staff were helpful and pleasant too (which cannot be said for every restaurant we’ve eaten in). It therefore came as no surprise that the place was fully booked on a Thursday night in September .. so goodness knows how far ahead you’d need to book to get a table any time in August..
We first went here 30+years ago and manged to find it again this August holiday with the extended family joining us. The service is friendly, professional and well managed. The food, seafood especially, is beautifully cooked and there is an imaginative use of sauces and marinades, such as in the sardines starter, the dip to accompany the langoustines, and in the reduction served with the roasted pork. A lovely cheeseboard highlights the best of the region. Children's plates were equally well presented and were appetising. Local wines were reasonably priced and carefully served.
We have been going to this restaurant every year while on holiday in Noirmoutier and the standard of the food and service is fantastic. The restaurant staff are very welcoming and there is a very tranquil ambience in the place. We had the 38E menu and the food was well presented and very tasty. They have a good choice of wines and a fantastic cheese board. Would recommend this restaurant if you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary or just want to indulge yourself in fine cuisine.
Once a year, we visit l'Etier when we stay in Noirmoutier. We keep being amazed at the great value for money. The food is delicious both the raw material and the cooking, and the service a nice blend of professionalism, commitment and kindness, makes every evening there special. Positive attitude towards young children was also appreciated every time. Looking forward to next visit.
