It is 12 months since I wrote a very positive review on this restaurant, how things appear to have changed since last year... .! We booked well in advance for a table accommodating four people for lunch. We arrived on time promply shown to our table in a shady corner. We were handed menus, but then completely ignored. We sat there, trying to attract attention to order for fifty minutes! We were about to walk out when a French gentleman on the next table went to speak to a member of the waiting staff about our the long wait. Someone did eventually come over, giving a very quick apology, we therefore eventually ordered. By this time it was 2pm. The meal was certainly not of the standard we have received here before. We were not compensated with even a token glass of wine. The attitude was poor. My only regret is that we didn't walk out sooner! We will not be returning.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate the maternity leave of one of my colleagues. As we went for lunchtime, we could choose the daily menu, which has a reasonable price. I ate a steak and had a dessert, both were very good, and they prepared the meat as I asked for it. Good point! In fact everything was nice, the food, the venue, even the waitresses were nice to us, but sometimes they were a bit forgetful. We asked for some glasses, three times, they always said that they would arrive in a minute. In the end I grabbed some from another table, the waitresses saw it, but they did not even say sorry. But the food is more important than the glasses. I recommend this place for the daily menu!
My wife and I went to Biot to go to the Le Verrière to purchase some glass products and decided to have lunch at the neighboring Le Verriers restaurant! It was an inspired choice! I had the steak with green beans and potatoes Dauphine. The steak was medium well done, and not a ounce of fat. It was delicious and tender. The beans were awesome and the potatoes tasty. My wife had the hamburger with home made fries and said it was delicious as well. The atmosphere on the shaded terrace was comfortable and had a cool breeze on a very hot summer day. Les Verriers is definitely a restaurant we will eat at again, and again!!
Apparently we were the Black table that day. All went badly, service-wise and we spent 2:20 having lunch. We waited over an hour for our main courses, and had to skip dessert. Most of the five of us enjoyed what we had, but I chose a bavette which was like a boiled shoe, and no-one else could help me finish it. The ambience is good, with a huge plane tree in front of the restaurant, under which one can sit. The wine list was pretty good too, though we waited a long time for wine too. On balance I would never return. None of us will.
