Les Halles - Table reservation

After a tour of Chambery, we searched for a suitable lunch-place and found 'Les Halles' just before heavy rain began. They offered a 13-Euro two-course lunch and we both chose Crusted Fish followed by Creme Brulee. To counteract the cheapness of the lunch we ordered two 125ml glasses of Montagny Premier Cru, a good quality white burgundy. This was as tasty as expected and seemed to have been a somewhat generous filling of the glass for 125ml. The fish dish was nothing special but my wife (who is an expert on creme brulee) awarded a scary 9 out of 10 for the dessert. Apparently both the flamed sugar topping and the creamy interior were of top quality. We were entertained by occasional sounds of thingder during the meal. They do have around 6 tables outside, beside the restaurant. There are many more tables inside.

Recommended by the hotel receptionist and with a good review on Trip Advisor we decided to give it a go. Good idea. €30 set menu was fantastic value. Pate de Fois Gras was superb, as was the Magret de Canard. Finished with an excellent creme brûlée. House wine good value. All in all a great meal.

Accueil charmant, nous avons déjeuné dans l'arrière-cour, pleine de charme.Les serveurs ont été adorables avec les enfants, et nous avons très bien mangé. Les prix sont raisonnables.

Location supercentrale. Ambiente accogliente. Ottimo rapporto prezzo/qualità. Servizio impeccabile ed anche cordiale. Molta clientela locale (segno che il locale è ok).

Locale in posizione centrale con cortile riparato per mangiare. Ottimo il filetto alla griglia con pepe verde e patatine fritte.
