The waiter is fantastic. We were greeted, seated, and a water bowl brought for the dog before we 'd even got ourselves settled. Throughout the evening he was attentive, funny and generally the best thing about this restaurant. The choice of dishes was superb, not a huge menu but a real variety something for everyone as they say. For my starter I chose a fish fajita. It was beautifully presented and delicious but sadly the fish inside was fridge cold and inedible. A shame because otherwise the dish was lovely. For the main course I had a poire steak cooked to absolute perfection and with a delightful wholegrain mustard sauce. Delicious! For dessert I wanted the house hot chocolate but they didn 't have any, so I settled for a waffle with honey, which was disappointing the honey had crystallised so it was all quite dry and difficult to eat. In all this place is well worth a visit, the menu items are carefully crafted and not 'standard ' fare, every dish has a little 'twist ' which makes it unique. The service here is superb. Just a tiny bit more attention to the preparation of the food and this place would be getting 5 stars from me.

From the moment we walked in we knew we had made the right choice! Dominique received us with just the right amount of French sarcasm and warmth. The Bio Chardonnay was delicious, we bought a few bottles for home. The organic, local ingredients were delicious. We ordered the Emulsified goat salad, poulet fermier, and Merlan..all were delicious! It was wonderful to be in a place that obviously cared about its work and was not a tourist trap. We will be back.

Having visited many times in the past, we hadn’t been to Talmont for a long time, and were looking forward to coming back so were delighted to find this little gem of a restaurant. The food was really good as was the service. Super value too. Definitely recommend

Our poor French was no barrier to our host who greeted us warmly. The menu was offered in English but the suggested meals were truly lovely. This small, hidden gem was the highlight of a lovely visit to a lovely town.
