A choice of 4 starters and 4 mains.Average €10 and €20 for main.Bottles of wine on board seem expensive. 25cl of white (not chilled enough) red €6 (good) house wine. That's €18 if it was a bottle. My starter was sold to me as a family traditional special. One half of a tomato..A speck of onion and a small portion of courgette. And some lettuce.and a special sauce. I would have left the family years ago if that was their best! Wife had starter ofRavioli with some sauce that was a bit tasteless. For main she had alioli provincial. Some cod in garlic oil. Very strong taste! My main was a small shank of lamb with potato. TastyThe waiter was trying to have fun conversation but was a little forced. He would have been better knowing his menu in English.Paying at the counter was meant to be a bonding experience but took too long for me to wait. My turn came and the bill was added pronto! The customer drink on the house was offered to me only and one for himself! When I asked for one for my wife I was told men only!I hadn't the courage to tell my wife!

Our host directed us to Les Caprices de Sophie, and the food and atmosphere are superb. The Maitre,Oliver, speaks great English and helped us with menu choices. The food was so good that we've eaten there twice and are going back again on our three night stay in Lyon. The restaurant is a small family affair. Everyone is made to feel at home. The dishes are creative and reasonably priced, chicken, lamb, and beef with sauces and accompaniment to die for. Best food I have ever eaten in France after 12 trips!

All the food was very good but the ravioli was to die for! The family make you feel like you have come into their house, they are so welcoming. The menu is in French obviously but Olivier helpfully explained it all in English. We only stayed in Lyon for 4 nights and ate there twice because the food, wine and atmosphere was excellent.

If you are so impressed by it, you can leave a note on the ceiling! We were 6 friends on a round table, received a warm welcome, fun family run business. Generous portion, excellent cooking, fresh ingredient with a tropical twist and Affordable! Highly recommended!
