We stopped for a beer in the evening after a couple of hours hiking and a visit to the nearby waterfall. Place seems typically Swiss with wooden interior. Service was friendly even though we just wanted a drink. Toilets were clean and well kept. The road stops here so it is not a place you get to by accident. To go any further you need to walk. The walk can be as arduous as you want but even though there are no easy strolls there is some paved walking to be had so good shoes but no mountain rescue gear needed.
One of the best places in the Alpstein to have something to drink or eat or stay overnight. Great kitchen. Lovely people. It's always a great pleasure.
