At first we were overlooked although it wasn't very busy, and it took some time before we could order. We chose oysters as appetizer, and the menu du terroir as menu. The oysters were not as firm as I would expect fresh ones to be, but tasted good. I had a kind of seafood with camembert as starter (bulots, which was a word I didn't recognize but translates as whelks) and it appeared as if some shell parts were missed during preparation. The fish of the day was probably cod and it tasted good. My wife had kind of salmon quiche and lamb leg and was satisfied with what she got.
Always happy to return to this friendly restaurant with a warm welcome and good honest fresh food. Fab views of the sea and altogether a very pleasant experience. There is always something on the menu for both hubby and me. I like fish and hubby likes trying different?? Whatever we choose is always good. We love the atmosphere and good nature of the owners/staff. Great combination. Always our first stop on our holiday in Normandy.
We have eaten here three times both inside and outside on the terrace. There are stunning views of the beach, and it looks lovely. It is very friendly with a family feel to it. I always end up having the steak and they cook it to order everytime. The salad is fresh and nicely dressed and the chips are not greasy. My son had the steak hachee and said it was excellent, the cafe gourmand is also highly recommended.
Once again we really enjoyed our delicious lunch at Le Vent de Mer, top class. Lovely staff and wonderful food,thank you. Makes our local eateries in Dorset look very second rate sorry but it’s true . Going to have an afternoon nap now!!!!!
