Le Soleil Brille pour Tout Le Monde

I came here on the basis of positive TripAdvisor recommendations, but how disappointed I was! We had booked a table, but when we arrived 5 mins late (we got lost) we were given a small bench at the back next to the toilet. We asked to move but were told abruptly there were no other tables. After 10 minutes of eyeballing people queuing for the loo I got up to leave, at which point the offer was made to move our table outside. The waitresses were friendly but the owner basically glared at us all evening. The food was reasonably good and well priced, but we were either ignored or made to feel uncomfortable the entire evening.Would I recommend? No. Would I come back? No.

We ate here twice while staying in La Rochelle, the service is excellent, you need to book if you wish to sit & eat outside in the summer months, inside is lovely also. This restaurant is right beside the Market area of La Rochelle (La Marche) and the food is very fresh. Their home cooked desserts are beautiful, try the apple crumble and fresh cream or the pancakes. There is an Irish pub "Corrigan's" just opposite on this quiet street.

This is a wonderful little restaurant tucked in a side street close to the marche. Friendly people, simple food, and delicious. They usually have 2 daily options plus their standard basic menu. I recommend their specials. Reservations suggested during the summer.

We have been recommended this restaurant by a local, good place to get quick and delicious lunch. We had very tasty Tartes du jour, the staff was great and friendly, we definitely recommend this place !
