We discovered the restaurant by chance walking around in the old town after we found that many restaurants (our initial choices) were closed on Monday evening in Bergerac. What a nice surprise! The kitchen was inventive and the quality of the food and wine was very good. The service was good too and we were "déçu en bien".My husband ate a la carte first a type of carpaccio of beef and then the foie gras. I had the menue that comprised a perigord salad with finely grated foie gras, confit of duck and dried magret of duck which was very nice, followed by the sturgeon, which was perfectly cooked and then a strawberry desert. After checking this restaurant on Tripadvisor we at first hesitated a bit, because of some of the negative reviews and also the very wordy replies of the owner, which at first made us feel that he was maybe not that willing to accept criticism. But reading further we also felt that some of the reviews really did seem unfair (amazing how some people abuse their power). Nevertheless, we still feel that shorter and less sarcastic replies by the owner would have maybe served him better, but that's just our take. All in all, we can only recommend.
