"We were wondering around, looking for a good place to have some 'Flammenkeuchen '. Coices were not so extensive, all same basis, just different cheeses. They blue cheese one was tasteful. Another one less. Service is very fast, staff friendly."

This place is right when you enter the main drag into town a place that screams tourist joint based on location. Wasn't planning on giving it a shot during our stay here but two things led us to eat here. 1) a crew working on the road ate lunch here each day. These are locals so had me leaning away from it being a tourist trap and 2) our final night in town was a Thursday and several places were closed on Thursday. We wanted to eat near the park/playground and after walking from one end of Rue du Grande to another, we ate here due to proximity to park. We were a family of 4 two adults and 2 kids age 6 and 1. Six year old wanted to eat inside so we did. We were only customers inside. Waiter came right Away with menu and high chair. Daughters split a margarita pizza waiter split it across two plates on delivery which was helpful. Wife had a salad which she enjoyed why I, after a week in the area, has grown tired of the local cuisine and opted for lasagna. Was actually quite good. Kids could not stay settled so they left with mom for the nearby playground. Me, I finished the carafe of wine and had dessert. A berry tart of some kind wish was delicious. Chef came out to ask how it was and I gave him the thumbs up. I was impressed with the food and service. Kids can be loud and make a mess but the staff was very kind and accommodating and that sold me in the end.

This restaurant is in prime position being just as you enter the main street, we had walked past it several times before giving it a try, like most of the main drag restaurants it offers most of the local specialities this is, after all, a very tourist oriented area. This restaurant handles the local cuisine as well as any, and better than some. Their prices are reasonable, again cheaper than many for the same thing. Service was quick and helpful, with a touch of good humour. They do have a few dishes not aimed at tourists, but we needed our fix of tourist fare!! Not haut cuisine but certainly good food at reasonable prices, cheerfully served. To expect more at the price would be unreasonable.

We had our best meal in the Alsace at this cosy restaurant. It was pouring outside but the atmosphere inside was warm and friendly. We were given a corner table and immediately had menus and bread put in front of us. The waiter recommended the mixed grill and it was a fun choice to grill food right at the table. My husband loved his steak au poivre. By 7:30 the restaurant was packed and Stephen had 38 people and a good 14 tables on the go yet he kept moving and kept his happy demeanour. We will always have the best of memories of our meal here.

Great place, easily accessible for the physically challenged. Comfortable chairs on a corner terrace. Lots of footfall so very entertaining watching fellow travellers. The Picon beer is excellent as is their lunch menu of salads and local delicacies.
