A disaster... more than ineligible... We are at the hotel with a reservation. We are welcomed by the manager who tells us not to have our reservation and declares that the hotel is complete. After discussion, he takes us to a room under the non-climatized 38-degree roofs and asks us for the sum of 120 euros. We tell him that the reservation cannot be changed and is not refundable what seems to be fun. The latter answers us that it's only money. Difficult discussion with our interlocutor who seems despicable or does not seem to understand everything. An employee arrives and tries after 1 hour 30 to explain that our reservation is well validated. But the one who doesn't seem to understand and asks us the sum of 100 euros. Meanwhile, two other couples arrived and we had the same unpleasant surprise we had. Ask us if it wasn't a hidden camera. In front of our insistence, the latter finally gave us a room. Cleaning not worthy of 4 stars, air conditioning does not work. The sheets are dirty. Exterior deplorable, poor maintenance. To flee, badly managed hotel, boss incompetent despite the goodwill of the employee!!!
It’s been long time I’ve had a lovely experience like this. The garden is beautiful with flowers and ponds, where my family and I enjoyed for strolling around after dinner for couple nights, and of course we spent many times in the swimming pool. Our room was chic, clean and full of charm of my childhood imagination about Europe, together with the environment of the whole area, we felt like traveling in the fairy tale. The staff were warm and friendly, we were well taken care but no bothered during the staying. And btw the food were fantastic, they said all the materials are from local farmers. Look at my foie gras plate! I didn’t remember my weight-controlling. Highly recommended.
Absolutely loved this place! The room was spacious with very powerful aircon, great little fridge and wifi. Superb breakfast. Really comfy beds. We all loved the large swimming pool overlooking the Dordogne and delightful grounds. Local area is great too very convenient for shops restaurants at Buisson de Cadouin and the amazing river beach just a short drive away. The highlight of the stay was the professional yet light touch from Michele and the team. Always there when needed but not in any way overbearing like we experienced in other places.Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay with the children big pool and tennis court in good condition. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, with a foie gras starter.
