Le Jardin Gourmand

We passed this restaurant on the way to another and thought we would try it on the off chance, and what a smart move that was! It was early and we were the first diners in at just after 7.15, the three of us chose 2 different starters between us, a tuna terrine and a rabbit pate, both were excellent. They had Stella Artois on draught, and our female companion had an excellent bottle of reasonably priced red. All 3 of us chose the chicken as a main course, and it was served in a cast iron casserole pot, complete with beautifully prepared vegetables, 10 out of 10 from all of us! Dessert of strawberry infused Creme brûlée for me was excellent, and the others had a superb chocolate mouse with cappuccino cream and rich dark chocolate brownie. We also had a couple of superbly priced carafes of excellent wine. We would all recommend this restaurant.

Very good restaurant. Careful decoration and welcoming staff. Visible and clean kitchen. Excellent market menu. We feel that the ingredients are fresh and the flavours worked originally. The portions are as you need. We leave the table satisfied and satisfied but without excess what is perfect for gourmets who have an easy to digestion sleep. To discover absolutely.

We had the set menu lunch there yesterday and all four of us agreed that it was the best meal any one of us had had for years. Imaginative cooking, beautifully presented, good choice of dishes and excellent value wine. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Had lunch here and it was superb. An amazing starter of petit pois with roquefort, followed by turkey and cafe gourmand. My new favourite place

I know this restaurant very well and never disappointed! Everything was very good, especially dessert... to fall! I'll be right back.
