"Whilst staying at this delightful hotel we decided, after a long day's travelling, to stay in for dinner. We had read the reviews which were few and mixed. What we experienced was a wonder of fine cuisine served by attentive staff. Would highly recommend the lamb dish as well as the excellent 3 lemon dessert."

Our family frequented this restaurant many times under the previous owner (from which most of the positive reviews here were written) and when they nearly had a Michelin star. It was always an amazing experience, with staff who would remember your name, food that was surprising and delicious and a charming and classy environment. Tonight, under the new owners and chef, was sadly a different story and quite possibly one of the worst meals we've ever had. We ordered from the Chef's Menu; a starter which we normally love as a special treat fois gras. It was completely inedible. We both had one bite and had to send it back. It was bitter and sour, even rancid. The staff didn't apologise. In fact, the maitre de was even quite rude, asking harshly what the problem was and saying that this is how they always make it. We were not offered a discount and the small greens we had in replacement didn't even have dressing. By the time we received our main course we had been there 2hrs. The sole was also terrible, without seasoning and covered in a tarragon tapenade which was bitter and left a horrible taste in the mouth. Suffice to say, we were very disappointed. We rarely leave reviews but felt that this merited one.

Beautiful old proprety with move view and amazing garden; location is absolutely great but unfortunately understaffed so, especially in bar area, struggling to serve few tables present. Restaurant was, well, average: nothing outstanding nor outrageously bad but then not what you expect from this kind of places. Starters were well below par, with badly cooked scallops and seared foie gras left almost untouched by our guest; main slightly better, even so sea bass was almost dry; grilled langoustines were very nice. Short and high priced wine list leaves little room for pairing attempts. All in, I hope it was a bad day (or maybe chef wasn't there) as it was a very approximative meal...

Restaurant names are often misleading, however this is not the case here. Le Jardin is actually an ambient garden restaurant serving up exquisite french international offerings. The set menu is a steal, but in general the food is very fairly priced. Wine will cost you, though. If money's no issue then follow you heart else ask the sommelier, and you'll end up alright.

There is a very good chef in the kitchen and you know that! We tried homard and pasta and it was delicious. The day we went, we had to wait a bit as there was only one waiter but he did his best! Then desert was a lemon pie... slightly heavy and buttery but what to expect? Anyhow, overall lovely dining experience.
