We ate there on our first night in Le Crotoy and had a reasonable meal. We were asked if we wanted a desert or coffee and I said (in my limited French which stood us in good stead elsewhere) we'd finish our wine first. The bill was brought before we'd finished it by the waiter ( who'd not been serving us but appeared to be in charge). The girl serving us had been fine. We put down enough cash to cover it plus a tip and said we' d like two coffees and would sit outside to drink them ( and expected to pay separately for them) ie we paid for the meal to indicate that we weren't about to run off. The waiter then brought our coffees and said we'd not left enough money as the coffees came to 9€!!!! We paid but would never return - elsewhere we paid a maximum of 3€ for two coffees. Tourists, especially non French ones, beware.

We went as a family of four. Main course only. The waitress was friendly and fairly efficient. The food however...Mussels ok (they should be amazing though in this part of the world.)Kids meals were a very burnt steak haché with pasta bolognaise. Weird but the kids liked it.Chicken and chips with green beans. Aarggh!!!! I understand that they may need to precook the chicken but how many times? It was inedible. The green beans were out of a can, very sad.

We arrived and saw many restaurants and assumed not much between them so sat at Le goeland. Mussels were good; chevre chaud not, choucroute average BUT v annoyed that when asked waiter if service compris he said "non" when on later checking it was .A downright lie.Do not go there if they are capable of seeing an english person and assuming they are ready for fleecing.

Should have checked reviews on Trip Advisor before visiting this restaurant. One of the dishes, which was the main reason for us choosing the restaurant was not available. Fish soup I imagine came out of a tin, the mussels were not good, did not smell...More
