This is one of the best appointed restaurants in Ales despite an unimpressive exterior and situation near the train station. Prices had been off-putting but they've introduced a menu De marche at 22 euros for 3, courses with 5 or 6 choices per course. This is excellent value but prices for drinks and wine remain relatively high eg 5€ for a lot and 24€ for a bottle of wine. Wines though are from local independents and are excellent.Starter arrived too quickly while we were still enjoying our aperos and was overdone. My lamb shank was perfect but my wife's cod was cool and may have been over rested. Desserts were very good and generous though slate plates make enjoying the last few spoonfuls tricky short of licking the slate!! My little coffee never arrived! Overall, the food, decor and quality of fitments make le duo worth a return visit but there is better value to be had locally.

This restaurant run by two young brothers is well worth the visit. The decor of this "long" off white restaurant is very pleasant. The staff humerous and efficient. The food very good, try the Saturday lunch menu which included: seasonal salad, the feuilleté aux moules, fish and steak tartare. All without critic Keep up the good standard and work. .A restaurant to be revisited next time we are in the vicinity. One little hic .... the lock on one of the ladies toilet doors was broken, hope it has now been repaired!!!!

We returned to this beautiful restaurant for a Birthday treat. The food is always superb and well served, (lovely home made bread), although the service is rather slow. Each dish is innovative and interesting, always colourful and tasty. Not huge helpings. There is a small refined wine list, white table linen and sparkling glasses. Loo's came with a drainage problem and a broken lock, (been like that for over 18 months). A great venue and very welcoming. Easy parking in the evening.

The menu was perfect for lunch good price and well exicuted and good choice of wine not too expensive keep up the good work
