"Absolutely lovely little restaurant. The food was amazing and beautiful cooked. I would highly recommend this restaurant to sample the local food. The food is on a special board and the French lady spent time translating it to us and the pudding where very favourable and we (family of five) really enjoyed it."

Unprepossessing from the outside, inside the restaurant looks like a cake shop that has been transformed in to a restaurant (which, I believe, it is, during the day! . This masks a restaurant with a serious cook at the helm. This is good, unpretentious food, served well and with some skill. We were concerned that we may be the only diners, having arrived to a quiet room, but, as the evening progressed, it filled up completely. We stayed in Abbeville, on our way south to the Loire valley and chose Le Croquembouche on the basis of reviews. We were not disappointed. Go, you won't be disappointed either.

Guided by previous recommendations here on TA, we were not disappointed. Delicious Cheese Burgers with penny chips, the fillet of pork was perfectly prepared with honeyed carrots, polenta cake and an amazing jus (plenty of it too! and my duck with a creamy risotto style rice was absolutely scrummy! Desserts were home prepared and of a high standard expected in this lovely part of France. Drinks, dinner, deserts coffee for four was 97€ so not the cheapest but excellent food and service gets the thumbs up from us.

Great little establishment in what is a fairly lively little town. Not fancying the hotel’s overpriced food we found this out with the help of TripAdvisor. We weren’t disappointed. The wife’s cod dish and my carbonnade we expertly cooked, the children’s portion were huge. The desserts were good too, though not as good as the starters or mains. Wine list was limited also, but having said that if I ever come to Abbeville again I will gladly come back.

We took a vegetarian friend for lunch and they produced a delicious dish of spinach gnocchi with a cream and parmesan sauce and fresh asparagus. Meanwhile we tucked into ficelle picarde and a camembert burger . Portion sizes were spot on, the food tasty and the atmosphere relaxed. A lovely place for lunch, with outside seating at the back. Lunch for 3 with apperitifs, carafe of wine, main course and one coffee around €60. Best to book.
