A lovely setting for an informal meal in this centre of this beautiful village in the Pyrenees, overlooked by Mount Canigou. This is a small grocery selling local produce and delicacies (including wine), and serving meals every day except Wednesdays. The menu is the same every week with a different home cooked meal every day. There are take away options or a sit down service in the flowery courtyard shaded by a sturdy walnut tree. It is run by a young couple, Alexandre serves and his wife cooks. They use locally sourced food, chicken, beef and veal, they do tapas on Friday and Saturday evenings, roast chicken on Sundays and serve a delicious range of pizzas at any time. If you want to get away from the big restaurants and have a simple, but delicious and generous meal, try Le Bon Temps, but do check when it is open so you don't miss a treat.

We were staying just down the hill in the Chateau de Riell and want to relax local restaurant on light. We could not be more delighted with the Le Bon Temps. With maybe only 10 covers in the courtyard and a few more across the road, this is very much a locals restaurant. We were there on Friday night, and they were doing pizzas. These are made with a home-made sourdough base and I was extremely popular with the locals, the business doing a study take out service while we were there. The owner, Karine ? was fantastic. It helped she spoke great English, and in a past life had been a maitre d’ in a five star hotel in the Caribbean! Really interesting wine selection as well, which she was happy to let us taste before we choose. We finished with a delicious home-made chocolate mousse. Highly recommended! But you will need to book.

We met Karine when we stopped by her lovely bistro for coffee and a croissant. She suggested that we stop back for her fixed price Sunday dinner for an incredible 22 euro. Everything was fresh and well presented. Her choice of wine nicely paired with the dinner. We look forward to coming back on a future trip.

Booking in advance is recommended as the restaurant is small. Tasty dishes prepared from fresh local and organic products. Warm welcome. Great place to stop when passing through or when trekking in the area. Highly recommended.
