Le Beaulieu - Table reservation

This was of our best meals in France. And we have had a lot over the years! A spacious dining room on the first floor of an un-presupposing building arranged with no sense of crowding. The setting is formal without being too 'rod up your back'. Gentle and helpful staff and a menu from which we were spoiled for choice. The starters took our breath away: ravioli stuffed with langoustine served with a truffled sauce - rich and perfectly balanced. Crab and lobster salad with tomatoes and a perfect dressing. Flavours fresh and full - cooked to perfection. Mains included a Cote to Veau with truffles and impeccably finished vegetables, sourced with thought and care. Sweet carrot (yellow and firm), beans, green and dark. All both delicate and yet full of flavours. Red mullet with prawns and other shell fish in a piquant Spanish influenced foam. Not all light and washy, but excellent flavours, firmly managed by a chef who knows exactly what he's doing. Deserts matched the rest; wine list pricey in the main but worth every Euro. Service was informative, relaxed and never intrusive.

Un restaurant sans fausse note! Le service est très aimable, l'ambiance feutrée mais pas guindée comme c'est le cas, souvent, dans les restaurants gastro. Nous sommes installés royalement, les fauteuils sont extrêmement confortable. La salle est cosy.Ayant goûté plusieurs restaurants gastronomiques celui-ci est mon favoris sans aucun doute.Repas délicieux et copieux! Le chef qui se présente à vous et donc qui prend de son temps pour sa clientèle est un vrai plus. Bref, rien a redire, parfait, si vous avez l'occasion allez y les yeux fermés (attention quand même il y a des marches à l'entrée ;)).

À l'occasion d'une carte cadeau, nous avons pu redécouvrir ce restaurant et nous en sortons aussi ravis que la dernière fois. Cadre intimiste, mets fins sublimés par d'excellent vins. Nous y reviendrons !
