"i have rated this place average only because the slow service really lets it down. is a simple tea house serving simple food and drinks and a very small place. the tea house was not busy the day we went so really couldnt understand why service was so painfully slow. its a pretty place and the food is nice, if service was more efficient I would have rated it with higher stars."

The friendly welcome and very reasonable set lunch was exactly what was needed. I would differ from the previous contributor in that I think there are plenty of places in this part of France to stop for lunch or a break but they after don't look like much from the outside. This place, right in the centre of St Estephe does look great from outside and inside is very comfortable in a sort of understated and stylish way. Cafe gourmand was a particular treat but the formule with a salad, small cup of soup and quiche was very good. Plus a wine list of very interesting Bordeaux chateau makes it an excellent less formal option for lunch compared to some of the more traditional restaurants (excellent. Though many of them are)

It's hard to find a spot in the small villages that are open for lunch post 130pm. This is a quaint lil spot in Saint Estephe, where all the meals are freshly prepared, very generous portions, and served with a smile and love. They have a lovely terrace/back garden area where you can enjoy a cup of tea with cake or a tarte with salad. Well priced.I also ordered a piece of her orange cake to go and she wrapped the piece of cake like a small Bon Bon:). It was lovely, moist and very tasty! Merci:)

This region of gorgeous vineyards and castles has very few places to eat or grab a bite. Plus, at this time of year visitors are scarce. After driving for quite a while we found this most lovely and cosy place in St-Estephe. The owner is very welcoming and there is a good selection of tea (both traditional and from the region) and gourmet coffees. I also recommend the very tasty home-made pastries.

A small local bistro. Very charming serving staff. Excellent food: local seafood specials and duck . Pre fix lunch menu options were very reasonably priced. Staff does not speak much English but were very accommodating and were able give us good insight to the menu.Owner was on site assuring we were well taken care of as the only American tourists in the place. Recommend highly.
