"Regular visitor here but keep eating there as it's so good. Ambience, food quality, presentation, welcome etc etc. We had the daily formula being lunchtime, such good value. Steak for me and my wife picked the cod. Both served with delicious mixed salad and home fried potatoes. Super French cuisine at best."

Delightfully located restaurant with bags of charm. The menus are thoughtfully presented with a wide choice of freshly prepared local produce. The restaurant has a bright terrace for outdoor eating in summer, well worth trying. The midi menu is great value with plenty of choice and there are options on how much you want to eat (1 to 4 courses). The evening menu again presents just single plat or the full blown gourmond experience (includes all you can eat frogs legs on Thursdays!!) Overall the friendly greeting from the chef and staff makes eating in Salt a not to miss experience.

We had a truly excellent New Year's Eve dinner at the Assiette Saltoise. In fact, if it had gone no further than the apéritifs, it would already have been memorable! But there was more seriously good cooking to follow.... Nothing flashy or pretentious: just straightforwardly good. And, as always, a friendly welcome. Altogether, a great evening. (I see that one party of guests thought exactly the opposite. Well, "nowt so queer as folks"...)

Been to the assiette many times and keep returning as its such a charming restaurant. Plenty of choice still from the midi menu to the more gourmet carte. The "5 gambas" and the veal dishes are my favourites but I also like to try the regional specialities, usually made from locally sourced ingredients at good value prices.
