After eating at the neighboring restaurant for two lunches, we wanted to try this somewhat bigger place due what seemed to be a bigger menu. We were so disappointed. The staff were extremely rude and the oysters didn 't have the same size and quality as the restaurant we had been to next door (the one with the dragon). When asking for a glass of water the waiter first said no but later came out with a dirty plastic cup. The table next to us were however served normal glasses and baguettes (which looked very tasty compared to the stale slices of defrosted loaf we got). Maybe it was about us not being French?
Went on a busy Saturday night with a reservation and were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Very fair priced menu with many options from the sea and land. Tried some tapas and mixed seafood. I would recommend sticking to the delicious fresh oysters and shrimp. The oysters were incredibly fresh, deep cup, salty and firm. Soooo delicious! And the shrimp were cooked perfectly and retained their flavor and texture. Friendly service. Didn’t have dessert. We will return!!
If you like oysters, you have to come to the Centre Ostreicole in Leucate. L'Aquarium is one of the oyster stalls that serve fresh oysters. Here there are no cook food but just oysters, and drinks. A heaven for any oyster-lover!
We spend up to 6 weeks every other year at Village Oasis, which is a 15 minute walk. Deux douzaine huitres grosses and local vin blanc is our usual lunch. Always great and never disappointed.
