for let us be honest beyond reality with neon light and 24/7 TV has in our imagination a Trattoria a boss who constantly sings, yells with the employees and recommends the “worldly best” pasta from the deepest heart. In an ambience full of Madonnenbildchen and Football Devotionalien, all kinds of day offers are available on tables and where you can drink simple but good wine from carved tablecloths in a good mood to culinary Italo classics. Yes, you can imagine the L’antica Trattoria. Except that the tables have uncovered beautiful wooden plates. I had deliberately interrupted my journey to a convention in the Thuringian Forest in Gotha to see another residence town of the many former princesses. From the castle in the “Oberstadt” the beautiful cascades went down to the wonderfully restored centre. On this beautiful summer evening, owner Antonio Tiripicchio certainly awaited some couples or even groups, so that he wanted to sacrifice for me a table in front of the restaurant. Destiny if you don't reserve it. Well, my place right on the wide-open window was not sticky at all and for nothing in the world I would have missed this impressive interior! My wish to start outside the map with some cold cut and cheese was no problem at all. There was Coppa, Bel Paese, Pecorino and Parmiggiano. The patronage of olive oil, of course of family-owned trees. Even such a cliché, but a very pleasant one. The moderately mature balsamico and the bread Cucina povera baked with chestnut flour were okay. For a Trattoria a very pleasant start. After the open reds didn't quite catch me, Signor Tiripicchio made a bottle of Primitivo IGP without great circumstances, a good, soft companion to the opening. As an antipasto, I had chosen the deer carpaccio with mushrooms from one of the many small plates. I'm going out of wholesale, but it wasn't bad. The deep red, abundantly dimensioned meat was thicker cut and tasted stronger than beef. Plain mushrooms had a good aroma. With the Parmesan planks it was just a delicious appetizer. Cherry tomatoes taste in summer, but have lost nothing on a carpaccio culinary. Of course, I had already ordered the planned Ruccola... In the meantime, the boss was in search of a mature white wine for me. The unfiltered pecorino from the brands made me a lot of pleasure with fruitiness, gentle tannins and clear herbal notes. Even without request, immediately gifted into a larger glass that gave a lot of air to the long closed wine. The man understands his craft. So could go on with the Primo, on the advice of the boss came spaghetti with olives, peppers, tomatoes and peperoncini. A “speciality” from the home of the boss; sounded like Pasta squintana for me. I did not find a corresponding term on the net. Maybe the brain intelligence helps? With self-made chili oil, Parmesan and the here forgiven Ruccola, this was naturally soul food. Unfortunately, the pasta had been cooked too far. When the boss came with my slight disappointment “Porca miseria! What's the guy doing in the cellar?” there was a sworn cannonade down the stairs into the kitchen. At the main course was again everything as it should be: Calamari tubes very delicate with olives, peas and fresh and semi-dried tomatoes. Strongly spiced, simple, well done and saulecker. No more and certainly no less. I was only happy and the 95 Euro incl. the drinks not cheap but in any case inexpensive. The L’antica Trattoria convinced me all the way. You just have to have some pleasure for a colorful and loud experience. At 9:00 p.m. on a summer evening, Gotha was an almost deserted museum scene. Gotha? The evening wasn't over yet...

It's okay here. Rarely eaten and drunk Italian. This is not an attempt to inflate something, but you want me to be satisfied. Also for several requests always friendly. I definitely come back.
