I went to this bar recently and I thought it was going to be lovely because on some of the tables they have a fire pit and are over looking the ice rink. When we were finally served I asked for some water and it never turned up so I asked could we get it and the waitress replied “ No, go and get it yourself at the bar” which I found VERY rude. Then later on we decided to ask if the fire pit could be turned on and the Waitress then replied “ no we can’t we have no gas “ and there clearly was gas because the fire pits were lit the night before. We also asked for crepes and she said they were all gone and she was asked twice to go and get the water and she still didn’t go and get it. If I was you I would NOT go to this bar.
We came here as The Umbrella Bar was shut. We waited an hour for our food and other tables who’d arrived after us were served their food before us. This included the burgers we’d ordered so it wasn’t as if we’d ordered something fancy. Serving staff were hard to get attention from and when we did the waiter was offhand and unapologetic saying ‘oh weren’t you told the wait was 40 minutes?’ We were not. I seriously doubt this as the restaurant was quite quiet inside and only a few tables filled outside. There was no apology or attempt to make up for the bad service. The food was average and expensive. Avoid. Umbrella bar much better value.
L'Abri is right next to the nursery slopes, and having a captive customer base, doesn't need to try too hard, or even try at all. My vegetarian son was midway through his vegetarian pizza before he noticed the first lardon. To most vegetarians, being served meat in a vegetarian dish is a pretty big deal. The restaurant deducted the pizza from the bill, without any attempt at an apology. My own fish and chips was spoiled by having the fish totally smothered in tartar sauce. Other than that, the meals of my party were barely average. I will not return, nor would I recomment the restaurant to others.
Food was really tasty and the service was polite as always. A great restaurant for a lunchtime break or dinner.
