Yes yes the ice cream and gelato here is fine, exactly what you'll get in 50 other identical stores all over the town. Our experience was highlighted (if that's the right word) by my daughter getting stuck in the bathroom. It was a small room with an old door and a lock on the inside. We spent about ten minutes trying to calm her down enough so that she could figure out how to work the lock and get out. The staff were trying to help (the manager was even considering breaking the door), but not really able to. Eventually she was able to get out and get back to her ice cream. What I thought was interesting was that by the time I was done helping her out, my ice cream and my daughter's were both largely melted. She decided that she didn't like hers (I belief it was the smurf flavour), and I bought her another (kinder egg). If this was North America, or possibly even the UK, they would probably have given her a big ice cream for free; there was a lot of crying involved, and it's never good for business to have crying people in your store! They didn't do that, but perhaps that's just an illustration of the fact that things are different in Europe, and you shouldn't go in expecting things to be the same as if you went into a similar store elsewhere.
Visited Propriano during a cruise. We went to La Marine for a pit stop on a hot and sticky day in September. We had cooling drinks which included a marvellous cafe frappe served by the most welcoming waiter on a fabulous terrace overlooking the marina for views and the road for people watching. After our drinks we went to the ice cream shop across the road for ice creams and chose cones with fruity and caramely scoops. As ever the cameras came out but it was so hot the ice cream was starting to melt. The female member of staff came around to the street when she saw us struggling with our cameras and ice creams. She kindly took photos, held ice creams while we took photos and handed out extra tissues. Brilliant friendly experience and delicious ice cream. Simple friendly pleasures made for an unforgettable visit to La Marine in Propriano. Thankyou
this year the glacier is still closed. What a sadness, it really lacks to propriano a good glacier like the marine! we sincerely hope that he will reopen...
We had sundaes crepes, all excellent, fairly priced. Just wish we could have gone back to enjoy once more but our time in Propriano was short.
