My husband and I have traveled to Paris many times but we're looking for new things to experience. We love cheese and wine and a friend recommended us to try La Vache dans les Vignes; you can smell it from outside! Well we walked in thinking we would take some goods to go, but it was a bit drizzly and decided to stay in. We had a lovely hand selected cheese platter from the hostess who asked us what we liked and offered us her favorites. My husband also got a meat (beef) option (I'm vegi) which he devoured. Our host selected us some fabulous reds (not bias but just happend to be what we were drinking that day). To say the least, customer service was fantastic!!!

My boyfriend took me here for dinner during a recent weekend break and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting, especially in the Marais/Oberkampf district. We were expertly guided through 3 reasonably priced wines and and some delicious matching cheeses - all of different styles. Melissa chose and explained both wines and cheeses in a relaxed, totally unpretentious and very knowledgeable manner whilst also being an attentive server. Locals were also purchasing wine to take away and also to enjoy 'eating in' with cheese/meat board-always a good sign! Very enjoyable.

The Tunisian-borne owner/waiter is delightful and certainly knows his wine and cheeses. We went for a wine and cheese tasting and he suggested we add some ham varieties as well. Beware, it's open for lunch but not open mid-afternoon. There are very few tables, maybe two tables to seat six each and two two-seater outside. Republique is the closest metro. The canal across the street makes for an interesting stroll.

We (three friends) went here for an early dinner one friday night. The idea that you choose a wine and they supply cheeses and meats to go with is pretty original. We had a great time; the wine suggestions were very good, our sommelier was open and frank regarding the prices, the meats and cheeses were superb too. It's a small place so you might want to reserve a place just in case...
