We spent two weeks in a gite in a nearby village. I had already spotted the good reviews on Tripadvisor, but the restaurant was also recommended by the gite 's owner. On our first visit, the weather had turned uncharacteristically wet, so we sat inside, which is very atmospheric if less scenic than the terrace overlooking the river. It seems they run an either or policy where seating is inside if the weather is bad and outside if (as usual) it 's good not both. The menu isn 't huge, but there is a good variety of dishes to please any taste. The only specials when we were there were the fish of the day. The best options are probably the two set menu options at €20 or €26. Both offer very good value for money and lots of choice. All the staff were very friendly, but the 'patron ' was really good fun and indulged our limited command of French in a very warm and friendly way without being unpleasantly chummy. We had our 11 year old daughter with us and there were plenty of other children about. They were all made welcome and there are a few kids choices on the menu (which our daughter treated with disdain). I would say that all the kids we saw were well behaved and liked their food. I 'm not sure it would be the best place if your little ones want to charge about among the tables. On our second visit it was my parents ' 55th wedding anniversary and the 'patron ' conjured up some creme caramel with candles for the occasion. Everyone in our group from 11 to 81 enjoyed the location, the service and most importantly the food very much. We would go again and recommend this restaurant without any hesitation.
