We loved this place and thought the food was fantastic! Nice buffet and the salad and beets just beautiful, and the grilled pork and steaks perfect. We sat outside on the street side and enjoyed a perfectly calm night...found the owner talkative and welcoming....some of these other reviews are so snarky so typically haut Francais let them stay in Paris (where I live by the way) and eat 1000 euro cake. If you're American or English or whatever, if you want something real and good in a cool and tenderly decorated spot...give this a spin. For us a perfect night. The owner has been in business 30 years! His sons are architects at EuroDisney. No better location in Barbizon you can park close by and the hiking trails are a stones throw! Muy Bueno!!!!!!
What a fantastic,authentic and friendly restaurant!! €25 per head for a three course meal accompanied by wine or cider!! Lovely salad and pates, bread , steak, chicken and puddings to die for- biggest profiteroles I have ever seen. Meat cooked on open fire in restaurant itself and served with huge baked potatoes topped with a mouth watering sauce. Unbeatable!
We had a nice lunch here. Fun concept of 3 or 4 Grilled mains, preceded by small salad buffet. And a dessert. Wine included. Grilled potato was very good. Not inexpensive but good quality for the price. Very cute atmosphere.
I recommend this low key, inexpensive restaurant. Price includes wine or sider, all you can eat salad, choice of steak or chicken, dessert and coffee...
