La Contre Allée

This is just the kind of restaurant you want to have locally: reasonably priced, a tempting menu that thoughtfully treads the line between classical and current trends, with well-chosen drinks and charming service to make you feel at home (which I certainly do). I have...been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. We recently enjoyed an excellent all-vegetable starter, a fish and maize starter, a good steak with excellent fries, fresh seasonal mushrooms with pasta, etc. Good to combine with.a trip to the nearby Fondation Cartier, or Catacombes. You can also eat outside when it's warm a real pleasure in the evening.

My wife stumbled across Contre Allee while waiting out a rain storm under their awning on Denfert-Rochereau. Months later, we came back, as it was just around the corner from our vacation rental, to enjoy an outstanding dinner. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, from the warm...greeting when we walked through the door, to the tasty amuse-bouche, the delicious starters and mains, to the sublime deserts, and, finally, the warm and gracious goodbye that truly felt like we our visit was appreciated and our return sought and welcomed. I would definitely come back here again and would warmly recommend it.

This is a great place to eat! This was our first meal in Paris and it was awesomeBoth servers were friendly and took time to explained the menu items.

Nice atmosphere, great service, very tasty food Butternut squash soup with roasted chestnuts was absolutely delicious.

best foie gras in town. really helpful and welcoming service, great wine list, reasonable prices. loved this one.
