Hard to believe we went to the same place as all the good reviews. We chose to eat inside which was somewhat drab and without any ambience. The room was dominated by a huge TV, but at least the sound was turned down. Not a good start when we were told they had didn't have the wine we had chosen from a very limited list indeed, and were recommended a much more expensive bottle that on ordering proved to have no particular merit above average plonk. The real downer was the food. We chose trout which had been out of the water some long time and presumably frozen, and it was then overcooked! The chips were of the appearance and consistency of overcooked pasta and completely sodden in cooking oil. We both left all our chips and when the plates were collected there was no comment from the waiter!

Upon arriving as a party of four and ordering four main dishes, the waiter happily went and brought 2 400g steak, a trout, and stuffed peppers in less than 25 minutes. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. Steaks came upon request, medium and rare, and were exquisite. The side of grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes were unlike any others. The side of salad had been drizzled in one of the most fantastic olive oils, and really brought out amazing flavours. As for dessert, the crepe with grand marnier was out of this world, as it was drenched in lovely liquor. All in all, the food was worthy of a 5 star hotel if not more, and the service was friendly to say the least. Highly recommended.

Our meals were nicely prepared local dishes at a reasonable price. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. She was very attentive even though she was the only server working at a very busy time. House wine was good. No complaints.

We ate here twice, each time was very good. Able to watch Euro 2016 match as well. Friendly and efficient staff, very generous portions.
