My last review of la besi was glowing. However, the last 2 times we have ordered, the food has been sub standard. 2 days ago, my husband ordered the linguine bolognese, he said it was very bland and there was hardly any bolognese. My carbonara was also bland and they forgot to send the parmesan cheese that’s advertised on the menu. Tonight we ordered pizzas. My chicken and mushroom pizza came as ordered but there was hardly any tomato sauce and only a few scraps of chicken. My husband ordered a calzone. They sent a chicken calzone instead. When I called them to complain, the person on the phone was polite and apologetic and promised to send the correct order, which they did, promptly. However, when his calzone arrived, it had hardly any filling inside, just a line of meat and cheese. We were both disappointed as this is not reflective of their usual standard. Nevertheless, as this has been two meals in a row that we have been disappointed with, I feel that an update to my last review is necessary. I would like to add that the staff on the phone and delivering the food have remained very polite, friendly and professional at all times. I am not sure if they have a new chef or new management but the food is no longer the quality we expect and will not be returning for a long time, if ever.
Went here for lunch and the lunch offer is great. The pizza is freshly made and Italian style on point. Tasty, maybe a bit much on the cheese. The ambience is rather functional though, more diner than restaurant which for lunch is great but does not appeal for dinner.
Myself and my daughter were looking for somewhere to eat before a gig at The Stylus and La Besi looked welcoming enough. Our waiter was very pleasant and the food was surprisingly good and decent value. The restaurant could do with a spruce up but it has some charm.
Gorgeous Italian Food/Takeaway! Me and my partner have been ordering pasta dishes from La Bessie for over 2 years. I can’t fault the pasta dishes whatsoever! We’ve travelled to Italy many times and La Bessie’s dishes are spot on
