I remember all my many (over 40) trips to France over the last 35 years, not speaking French at all or very poorly, and can count on one hand (with fingers left over) the number of times I think French people treated me poorly. I’ve noticed that people seem to get what they expect. If you expect to be treated well, you experience being treated well, and the reverse. In every country I’ve visited it’s the same. I know many Americans that hate the French for how they have been treated, and I’ve actually seen it happen. You get what you expect, and I think the few negative reviews of this restaurant reflect that thought. On the other hand, you do have to learn maybe 12 words in every country I’ve visited to be properly polite. If you can’t learn 12 words you have no business traveling anyway. That’s what I pulled out of the few negative reviews I read on this restaurant. We came here tired after a long day which had lots of driving around and a good lunch, and wanted a small dinner. One might think going to a well known restaurant and ordering a small meal isn’t acceptable, but it is. Judy ordered lamb and got 4 slices of perfectly cooked loin with a honey flavored sauce which was perfect for the lamb. It came with terrific mashed potatoes. I got 4 slices of perfectly cooked pork loin in a fig sauce that perfectly complemented the meat. Any complaint would be wanting more fig sauce, but that’s the glutton in me talking. Mine came with whipped sweet potatoes, perfect with pork. A bottle of Mas de Gourgonnier, a local red and the first Provençal wine I ever tasted 45 years ago made the meal perfect. We shall return!
