I've known the owner for quite some time now. I've been here before when it was an AYCE kbbq place. From that time until now, the whole experience itself has been elevated to the next level. It's now an a la carte place! When you walk in, you feel like you're walking into a night market in korea. The vibes, energy, music and ambiance transported me into Seoul! The staff were extremely attentive, checking in to make sure that you're doing okay, or if you need anything. The food is on the pricier side, BUT the food is AUTHENTIC. The cuts of meats are soooo juicy and tender. The way that the staff cooks the food for you ensures that it is cooked to the exact right temperature and has the best texture. The meats don't taste like anything but total deliciousness. We also got the army stew.. and let me tell you how large the stew was. It was MASSIVE. It came with noodles, spam, cheese, kimchi, etc. it was such a great comfort food that help cut out the fats from the meat. It was the perfect spice and sour, and it really just hit home. Phillys kbbq scene isn't that great, and it's super disappointing. But, pocha definitely ranks #1 in my books for bbq done right. If you want to take a step into Seoul and for some good eats, stop by Pocha!
