We want to eat on a Thursday. We choose a pizzeria, but finally found it appears to be closed. I watch several pizzerias in the neighborhood, but all only open in the evening. Eventually we pass a terrace of the fast food chain König. The table where we sit on sticks very much, but is not cleaned. We order patatas bravas and patatas with cheese sauce and a hamburger Seatlle and a hamburger Arizona. First the paptatas are served and next the hamburgers. Potatoes taste good, one of the better with tasty sauce. Burgers taste good and you can taste the ingredients clearly Finally we drink a coffee. For 2 persons 25 € all together is rather expensive for this small meal, compared to an average daily menu of 3 courses including drinks. Terrible service. Lots of waiters but totally disorganized, all pretending to be very busy but basically going around doing nothing.. If you sit at the bar then you will be invisible, the waiters will chat among themselves, load the fridges, prepare coffees etc. but they will ignore you. In addition, it seems that each waiter has a specific role...absurd when to ask for something you have to go from waiter to waiter because one accompanies people, the other asks for the food, and to pay you have to go to the cashier ... not to mention the big restaurant fumes that Konig has had for some time now, you have to wait to be assigned a table even if the place is empty. pathetic service
Stopped in for an evening snack. Impressed with the extensive menu which included both domestic and international dishes. I enjoyed a tapas combination plate that consisted of pulpo (octopus with spicy paprika), padron (Spanish fried baby green peppers), Russian potato salad and croquettes. A San Miguel ‘Selecta’ cerveza accompanied my meal. Presentation was very nice, portion size just right, prices reasonable, atmosphere casual and service attentive and welcoming.
This was one of a few places i had on my list to eat at, and in the end, ate here most nights, as only 5 10min walk from our hotel (Carlemany). The prices averaged out at around 20Euros including 2 beers. The staff are all pleasant and friendly, and the food of good quality and plenty. There is a choice of inside or outside seating inside would be cooler. Would reccommend .
