I posted 2 photos and they aren't the best because we dived into the food right away. We were craving ramen because we had just got back to town from Japan a week ago but my husband didn't want to drive downtown for ramen. We found this place which was a 10min drive from our home. It's not fancy and definitely more along the lines of mediocre set up. Menu for ramen included 2 broth options and each had 2 options of 2 slices of chashu or 4 slices. So essentially...you have 4 ramen options. They also had combos where you can pair up the ramen with some side appies.I ordered the Tonkotsu RICH broth while my husband ordered the Miso Regular broth. I found my broth to be very rich in "pork bone" flavour - and it was actually a bit too much but my husband really loved it. It was not salty at all as some ramen broths tend to be way too salty. With the Miso broth, you can definitely still taste the pork bones in that broth as well. I will have to try the Tonkotsu regular broth next time. The side dish came with 4 pieces of ebi tempura - they were cooked just right and the batter was very reminiscient of the tempura batter in Japan. The tempura batter was so delicate and light. So much like Japan!!I think overall, for the price of the ramen, the portion size and the gentle flavours of the broth - it is a gem in Burnaby especially if you're not looking to be posh posh in a downtown branded ramen eatery.
