I love J Nichols!!!! The ambiance is always warm. The interior is always clean and doesn't look tired. I love calamari and there is only 1 other restaurant in all of Los Angeles that comes close to how amazing their calamari is. I moved from View Park to Studio City and I'm totally willing to make the drive literally just for the calamari. Their Brussels sprouts taste like candy and are also a must. I don't eat red meat, but this is the best hamburger in Los Angeles according to those who do. My go-to entree are the tacos, even though they're on the appetizer menu, I will never understand what they do to caramelize those onions This place is family friendly. The vibe is upscale casual, so jeans are Ok and there's no pressure to dress up unless you're out to impress your friends. This place is also great for a business lunch.
I was told about this place by family living in the area, so it was my first stop after arriving in L.A. It did not disappoint! Shaida was our server and she was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed coffee while waiting for our food orders. I also indulged in a White Peach Bellini, because why not? The Huevos Rancheros were delicious. An incredible salsa mixed with beans, eggs, tortillas. Yum! The turkey club looked excellent. The Greek Yogurt Cheesecake was incredible!! The exterior of this place is very unassuming and located in a shopping/strip mall area with spacious free parking, but when you walk in the vibe changes to classy and sophisticated. Beautiful decor and hanging plants.
