When this Restaurant started, we all were very happy to have such good authentic Inidan food in our vicinity. The Owner is very friendly and welcoming.Till now it was only the old and dark look of the Restaurant that disappointed us, specially the dirty Carpet...but lastly when we , My Husband and myself went for Lunch at this place we got stale Lentil sauce. Perhaps many Europeans are not aware how Indian food smells when its not fresh. But i being myself an Indian, prohibited my Husband a swiss to eat the Daal further. Its very sad that this Indian Restaurant in midst of such a beautiful city centre of St.Gallen does not take care of its Look and Ambience and on top of that serves rotten food to the customers. Its a shame, coz at one time it has been my Favourite.
This is one of the more crowded Indian restaurants in St. Gallen but the food is not authentic. Also, they charge rates similar to fine dining rates for a much inferior experience. There is one waiter besides the owner and he is not at all...service oriented. When we were seated in an interior part of the restaurant, it was impossible to get anyone to serve us. Overall, the food gives a feeling that low quality ingredients have been used in preparation. If this restaurant were in India, it would have closed down for the poor quality food it serves.
As a family we went here as very other few places were open. I had read the reviews and was a little concerned but I have to say that it was enjoyable and tasty. The popadoms are really not great but the main courses I...felt were really tasty. It is not as bad as some reviews may suggest.
We ate here because it was one of the few things open on St. Stephen's day, while it was good, it wasn't worth the money. Switzerland is overpriced so save your money for authentic local cuisine if possible. Unfortunately we didn't have too many...vegetarian choices on a holiday.
