Always stay at B and B hotels overnight when travelling in France. A delight to find a place to have a decent meal on an industrial estate. This place is large. Well decorated and comfortably furnished. During our visit we thought the place would lack atmosphere and were doubtful about our choice. How wrong we were. The staff were welcoming and all wanted to practice their English. English menus were available. It was clear that most of the substantial number of customers were locals, and a delightful ambiance developed. The food is Italian based and good size portions are provided. Service is prompt, non intrusive, and the food was piping hot. The carafe wine was good and glasses of wine available. Prices very reasonable. Not for gastronomes but very good value, convenient, and ideal for an overnight stopover meal.
We visit this restaurant twice a year whilst going to and from St Tropez area. The decor, ambience and most importantly the food are excellent. Sharer entrees are well worth a try and the mains we like are too many to mention here. Desserts lovely. Reasonably priced wine is very good and nobody should finish an "Italian" without sampling either the Sambuca or a nice Limoncello, the latter being my favourite musical instrument! A nice little tip for those who don't know: If you stay at the B&B hotel next door they give you a leaflet which entitles you to 15% off your total resto bill. Enjoy.
My wife was born and brought up around Troyes and we often visit family. We have been to a number of restaurants in this immediate area, half a km radius of the major supermarket- Leclerc- and this restaurant is by far the best. We all chose the osso buco from the 'Main course' menu and not part of the 'formula'. The dish was served in a large cast iron pot, with tagliatelle, and a nice touch was that the meat sat on a slice of orange which infused it with a delicate citrus aroma. The food was very good, and so was the service- recommended!
An elegant and tasty meal, so much better than the typical fare on commercial centres near budget motorway hotels. We had a great and reasonably priced meal in very civilised surroundings, and conveniently adjacent to B&B hotel, 3 hours drive from Calais.
