Read some out of this world reviews on Facebook so drove 30 mins to grab a bagel lunch. I wasn’t blown away, it was good and probably in my top five bagel joints . The bagel was light and fluffy with a decent crisp to it but the lox cream cheese filling didn’t hit the mark I think because the actual lox flakes were so tiny. It was more of a lox mouse than a cream cheese. Goldberg’s remains firmly at the top of my bagel chart but there’s nothing wrong with River road bagels ; Staff very nice btw and the coffee was good !
I'll give them credit for being close knit with the community and for their friendliness with their regulars. However, if you place an order and they get it wrong and you are watching trying to correct them before they proceed they will say you said it to late. And then then nonchalantly say , if you like it fine, if you don't like it fine. Hey, but at least they are friendly about it. Even if you are out whatever you paid for your order.
I stop by almost everyday on my way to work and the bagels are always freshly made and the employees are always welcoming. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!
Great bagels!! Always fresh, hot and delicious. Everything, onion are the best in my opinion. Plenty of spreads, friendly staff.
