Stopped here, for an early Lunch, before taking a Hike up in the mountains above the venue - from which a number of different marked trails fan out. The place was already busy, with a good mix of nationalities - but the waitress willingly set up a spare table especially for us (family of 5) - and service was good. We made the slight error of ordering a 'Garbure' soup for one son - who is vegetarian (the dish contains Ham...) - but no harm done! In general, the ambience was as you might expect for a Hiking-focused establishment, situated at 4,500 Ft - no frills, but decent filling food. In a sense, it would be hard not to recommend it - since it's the only restaurant for some distance around, but I certainly don't think that the staff rest on their laurels. It would also be an interesting location in Winter - albeit it was noted that the access road is only open until the end of September (so one assumes, access solely on foot thereafter?)
Partis à 4 en après midi nous avons fait le circuit du cirque de la grélé. Durée 1h30 pour l'aller. Les durées indiquées ne concernent que les trajets allers il faut le savoir. La balade à été très agréable et dépaysante. Nous avons malheureusement du rebrousser chemin à 15mn de la fin car mal chaussés. Des chaussures de marche sont indispensables! Le trajet n'est pas adapté selon moi à des jeunes enfants mais parfait pour mes ados. A la fin de la randonnée nous avons fait une pause goûter à l'hospice. Nous avons été très déçus par cette pause. Si le personnel est très aimable et disponible les gaufres étaient "rassies" et nos tisanes n'étaient pas très fraîches. Dommage!
So showing a visitor around the area we headed to the Hospice de France after we had walked high up around the ski resort of Superbagneres de Luchon. This family operation was just what you need after a long or short hike in the Pyrenees, the service was really friendly nice husband wife daughter team, so feel the nice family atmosphere, we ordered the crepe with lemon juice and sugar, nice portion of side cream, it was delicious. Beers very cold and nice. Outside decor could be a bit more updated. But what a great place to come back to try on an evening or lunch. We will be back....! the donkeys could be trained a bit better
Superbe cadre extérieur. Cependant les lieux sont tenus par des restaurateurs voulant faussement donner l'impression familiale et montagnarde.Table trés moyenne et surveillance constante de la tenancière des lieux attendant debout que chacun finisse rapidement son assiette afin de terminer le plus rapidement son repas et donc finir le service pour elle.Prix élevé pour le cadre sommaire et la nourriture servie (repas fixe) Pas de vin inclus .
