Hop & Spice Sri Lankan Cuisines

I went here yesterday for lunch with a friend and I was very impressed with the food. I have lived in Sri Lanka for many years and I know how good authentic Sri Lankan food tastes like and this is definitely very authentic and tasty, I think the closest you can get in Australia. its cheap and good serves. The staff is friendly and polite. I have been to a few Sri Lankan restaurants In melbourne and this is thus far the best hands down the others were good and some were even very fancy and high end but the food I found were not the best at those restaurants to Sri lankan standards it was westernized to a extend so the authentic taste was not really there.This is not a fancy big restaurant so dont expect that if you are after something high end this may not be the place for you. but if you want good authentic and cheap Sri Lankan food this is the place to be.

The food when it arrived was very good , I say when it arrived , 40 minutes from the order to the table , not good when only four of us in the restaurant . Did I mention the drinks not turning up , we left that one . The drumming of the kitchen , what was that person doing playing drums metal on metal in the kitchen ? Or the waitress on her phone constantly ... Food good service rubbish

Always enjoy meals at Hot and Spicy. Great traditional Sri Lankan meals, very simple restuarant. Great value. Have enjoyed both eat in and takeaway. Look forward to eating here again soon.

I will not recommend this place for dine-in ; take always could be fine as we had to wait for 15 minutes for the menus.
