We had planned to have breakfast at a café in the center of Straelen-Herongen, which claimed on Internet to be open for breakfast at 8.30 on Sunday morning. However, since the establishment remained dark and nothing stirred, when the clock closed up to 8.30, we looked up and down the Bergstrasse and discovered Bakery Holtmanns. This bakery is a typical German establishment with a counter where you can order your bakery products to take home, and six or seven tables, where you can have coffee, tea, sandwiches, or in our case, breakfast. Ordering is at the counter; the breakfast is brought to you by a member of the staff. The breakfast, coffee, rolls, meat and eggs, was made of fresh ingredients and delicious, and the bill was surprisingly low. Parking is in the street or on a small lot next to the bakery. To be recommended.
