I don't know why I go back other than it is a walk from my home. Took my family hoping things had improved but alas no. In fact tonight was as bad as it gets. My wife and I ordered pie of the day with mushy peas. The peas were inedible (totally undercooked) and as one of only 3 elements on the plate, you'd think they would be edible. Mentioned to waiter when plates were collected "no comment". Mentioned to cashier when finalising the bill " no comment". Asked cashier could she mention to supervisor which she did, " no comment". Asked again for comment and still not interested in even a simple "sorry- I'll let chef know" - there was nothing but a blank look and " do you want a copy of your receipt" I wasn't after anything more than an acknowledgement of the fact. But nothing. Sadly less than acceptable food is the norm for this high priced pub and now it seems they don't even care!!!! Three staff ignored addressing the problem which is probably the overall culture from management. Disappointed local resident who will tell others to avoid this pub.
I took a very dear friend to the Wellington Point Hotel for a drink and then dinner. We decided to start with a cocktail from the rather extensive cocktail menu. The young "Bar Tender" had an expression of absolute terror when we ordered two Espresso Martini. to cut a long long story short 25 minutes later we received out cocktails. it was agonizing to watch their preparation and even more so to see the "Bar Tender" stop making our drinks and serve others. It was eventually a senior staff member that made the drinks after printing out the instructions. Quite simply if your staff cant make a cocktail (a very simple cocktail) don't have it on the menu... needless to say there was no apology given for the delays. Dinner was had at the lovely Indian just down the road. My advice if you are in Wellington Point and would like a nice before dinner drink go to "Tanja's" across the road.
Went with a party of 8 tonight. It took a while for meals to arrive but the place was ambient and the service was friendly. Obviously the wait staff are doing a great job..Maybe the chefs need to speed up for what is after all non complicated food. Back to the food. the schnitzels were good. tasty crumb and cooked well. The lasagne was loved by my guest. The pizza was ok. I do worry about any food house that does not serve olives. Guys- its 2017. Discover the olive! The kids did not like their burgers at all! I tasted one and it was pretty average! Prices were reasonable. the bar and wait staff were great. the food was ok to good. nice location. great potential - lets just get into 2017!
I had dinner with some friends and the food was delicious. The steaks were tender and cooked well. The burgers were delicious and the cheesy garlic sauce that comes with the chips was yum. I will be back
