While having a stroll in the attractive village of Helperby we came across this lovely place that combines village shop, delicatessen and cafe. The tearoom is a pleasant and well decorated room and I believe that they do a good selection of cooked meals. We only wanted tea, coffee and cake however, and all were very good. Service was excellent and two incidents are worth a mention. First of all, having ordered a piece of fruit cake, the lady who I assume owns the business came through and asked if we would like a wedge of Wensleydale cheese with it well, we are in Yorkshire! Secondly, when we were leaving, the young girl who had served us bade us a nice farewell; then followed that up with a lovely “thank you for coming”. What a charming gesture.
