I am Korean and have to say this will be forever ingrained in my memory as one of the worst Korean restaurants we ate at. I hate to leave a bad review but feel like I need to warn others. First the rice in the bowls were not from freshly prepared rice and was lukewarm, messily served into the bowls, and filled halfway. Seriously, I've never seen such bad rice bowls!Second, there was a piece of plastic in the dweji bulgogi as the employee was about to cook it on the hot plate. She apologized and took it back, "said" she exchanged it but I have no idea if she really did. The banchan looked really old, the gamja jo rim (potatoes) tasted like days old! The shi gimchi (spinach) was mixed with old brown leaves and I was scared to eat it. The banchan was also served very messily and the kimchi scared me. Growing up Korean, I have heard of restaurants that will reuse people's uneaten banchan and serve it to others. Staring at that dish of kimchi made me think of that, as it looked like a bunch of leftovers had been thrown into the dish, and so I was too scared to try it.The worst dish of the dinner was the kimchi jigae soup. I have never tasted something so salty, sour, bitter, and off. There was something really strange in that soup, and I could not put my finger on what exactly it was, thought it was some chemical flavor, and I was scared to consume it. So, I barely touched it. Employees are friendly but not Korean, except for the owner ahjummah. I wonder if the chef is even Korean. Also, my gut instinct told me to walk out when I arrived, but my son kept whining about being hungry. What set this warning flag? The interior of the restaurant is really shabby and dirty. It looked filthy. I am sorry I left such a bad review but I need to warn others. This is not a true representation of good Korean food. I highly don't recommend this place.

I have had dinner here before around two years ago with my friend and already then got good vibes from Hankook. Now when I was visiting my aunt together with my sister and mum I suggested that we go and try this one. Even though the sorrounding area is a not so "comfy" and from outside the place looks some weird joint the athmosphere inside is totally different. Instead of huge tourist crowds you can find many Koreans having dinner here. Everyone has their own taste but my favorite ones are those bbq portions where crew can and must do social dining which is not so typical to us in northern periphery aka Finland. Prices are reasonable ss for four persons it was less than 100€ with beer and wines. Definitely will come here again when I come to Frankfurt next time! Couple of hints... do have reservation, don't let the location fool you and do try pork belly even though one might find it strange.

I love Korean food and the Hankook is above average. We visit Korean restaurants around Germany and these guys hit the mark. To start the entire restaurant was full of Koreans, that should speak for its self. The staff was friendly and we were served generous portions. The food was hot and fresh. Although there some bad reviews below, everyone subject to their own opinion. If you're looking for authentic Korean food, Hankook is worth a try.

A German colleague took us there, as a place where you can eat a Korean meat barbacue good enough for the taste and still for the pocket. It was a good experience and the owner helped us with some trick to improve the experience. The drawback is mainly that the place was full of smoke... But overall a good experience.
