"We had a very tasty meal here recently. We sat in the "conservatory" outside as inside was full and it was very pleasant. The "Wirsing Auflauf" (a kind of casserole with savoy cabbage and walnuts) we had for the main course was delicious and made a nice change from the usual Schnitzels and over-roasted meats served in many other places. The waitress was very pleasant and a good laugh."

Wir wollten ausserhalb des Weinfesttrubels in einem Moselgasthaus gut essen und nicht wie der typische Moselfahrer in einem der zahlreichen Touri-Restaurants abgefertigt werden.Die Gutsweinschänke machte einen vertrauenerweckenden Eindruck und die Karte mit mittlerem Speisenangebot schien passend. Wir enschieden uns für einen Schweinebraten in Apfelsud und ein Rumpsteak. Salat wählte man in überschaubarer Auswahl vom Büffet. Der Schweinebraten war exzellent; das Rumpsteak groß, sehr gutes Fleisch aber halt nicht individuell gebraten. Wir hatten einen Terassenplatz in einer wirklich schönen Umgebung im Grünen. Überzeugt hat mich die Servicekraft Jutta, die bei voller Tischbelegung meine vielfachen Sonderwünsche (WLAN - absolut untypische für ein Moselrestaurant, Nachreichen von sehr leckeren Rotkohl - war etwas knapp, Auswahl einer Ausserhaus-Verkauf-Hochstock-Riesling-Spätlese-Flasche) souverän parierte und zum Schluß auch noch für ein kurzes Schwätzchen über die MEVO-Landtagswahlergebnisse fand.
This is a really cosy place to have dinner, it's like sitting in someone's garden, with potted plants, bushes, a covered patio, etc. We sat in the back on a small side patio, and it took quite a while before the waitress noticed we were there. We were about to leave again when someone finally came to our table and also served the two other tables on the patio. After that, service was quick and friendly. We ordered a small schnitzel menu (instead of a regular) and even that was pretty big; two decent sized pieces of meat per person. Most meals come with a salad which you can get at the salad bar inside; plenty to choose from. All in all a pleasant dinner after all.
A very pleasant place to eat dinner. Its a nice garden setting just along from the castle. On the night we visited there was a talented young German couple playing Scots/Irish folk music. If you opt for a side salad here you help yourself from the buffet. The usual German menu of steaks and schnitzels but the did a very special sausage, which was more like sausage meets a rough pate. Very tasty too. Good service. Limited English spoken.
Ich hatte ein Zwiebelschnitzel und Meine Frau Reibekuchen mit Lachs, beide Gerichte waren sehr gut, Portionen total ausreichend und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Zum Gericht gab es Salat vom Salat Buffett, dieses wahr eher spartanischen gehalten, Wartezeit für das Essen wahr dafür das die Speisen frisch zubereitet wurden absolut O.K. Das Ambiente auf der Terrasse war sehr gemütlich. Würde jederzeit wieder dort Essen.
