Was in Groundswell a few times and was never a big fan. They just didn't seem to know what it was vegan. For example, they said they had vegan French toast. It was banana bread with chocolate syrup on top! Once we ordered guacamole and chips and got a portion of Guac in one of these little ketchup cups maybe two tablespoons? Get some time in 2018 when I went with some friends. We ordered quite simple dishes, but one did not come up to 30 minutes that we counted after the other two, that is a downer for people to eat together. While we waited, we didn't see the cook in the kitchen much. He also took out the garbage and went back to cooking without washing his hands. I told the owners then and they offered us a free meal. But it was about my 5th time, and I didn't want to go back.
Groundswell has absolutely incredible cupcakes!!! I?m totally addicted. Their coffee and brunch are delightful too. I love how spacious and bright the space is, and the staff is always friendly. This was my go-to study spot in college, but I?ve continuedcoming here, even though I now live in Minneapolis. I really enjoyed the holiday market they hosted last December, and Iappreciate that they highlight local artist. This is truly a neighborhood spot, and it?s worth the trip!
I've visited this wonderful local coffee shop weekly for the past few years, and it's by far my favorite place to be (especially to do homework). The staff at Groundswell are incredible, the food is always amazing and fresh, the coffee is top tier, andyou'd be hard pressed to find a coffee shop in the area that has a better usage of natural lighting and good tables to do somework. I'll always recommend this place for those in the area!
Awesome cafe! We came on a Sunday morning, we walked over from our AirBnb and we couldn't have made a better decision. The vibe is incredibly chill and the place is decorated super nicely. The staff are so wonderful and pleasant as well. Highlyrecommend! The chai was really authentic and beautifully spiced. Make sure to explore the whole cafe, there's an area with cutebooths. Truly a St Paul gem.
