With the rest of the world going to fast food or one step up from fast food, the Chillies and Olive Gardens, Gold Star however is an example of what a family dinner should be a service to the community. Owners and staff remember your name and your kids names. The food is far more of a value than any of the franchises where you pay more for the advertising than the food. My favorite there is the Friday Fish and Mac. Have that one time and I know you will agree with me. Spinach pie is good too.
The family has been here since my grandparents moved here in the 1980s. It is smaller than some of the local places, but feels more distance. All food is great, but one of my favorite things is when you order fried food, it is actually boiled, French fries are golden and crispy.
This place is a hidden gem. Even if it is on a large street, you can get it right up. They have great breakfast specialities and homemade meals. Anyway, I'll be back soon.
