"What a beautiful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We hiked the peaceful Cook Forest Park with its ancient trees, then chose the Gateway Restaurant from a brochure and were very happy with the ambience and the good food. I had a hand tossed Pizza and my husband had the Smashburger. We both enjoyed a glass of Rose wine and a slice of Chocolate Cake. It was an enjoyed evening worth repeating in the future."

What can we say about Gateway Lodge? The rooms are clean, with beautiful jet tubs and fireplace. The food is great (and healthy). The entertainment was fantastic (we made the case Harvest Weekend package). Our waitress in the restaurant, Robin, was wonderful this stay and on our previous stay a few years ago. She gets to know the things you like and has them ready for you when you sit down. The owners are very accommodating and work very hard. Rob has some great suggestions of wine or beer pairings with meals. We really enjoyed spending time in the Gateway Lodge with our family. There are beautiful hiking trails right at the lodge, and longer directly at the street. You're close to everything you want to do. They offer breakfast and store your fridge also with water, and it is not like Vegas, where drink a bottle of water from the room is a surprise $20 fee, it is only included. Your pool table is beautiful and well maintained. While Gateway Lodge is a bit expensive, it is still a good value for the quality of the offer. If you are on the fence about booking there, we recommend a shot. Help a family business and have one of the best stays you probably ever had... It's win-win.

Absolutely recommended to stay at Gateway Lodge! My husband and I spent the weekend for our anniversary and it was wonderful. The food was delicious with a large selection of wine and beer. The taste of the wild dinner was absolutely fantastic! My husband is traditionally a picky meal and he loved every bite. Make sure to ask for the wine pairings! The ambience and live music were also very pleasant. The staff was asked to help with everything and they were very friendly and friendly. We really enjoyed chatting with them and learning about the area. Cooks Forest was beautiful in autumn and there were so many beautiful sights to see and hike nearby. The lodge is very cozy and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some time in quality. We will definitely come back!

My boyfriend and I needed a quick weekend getaway out of Pittsburgh to break free of the hustle and bustle of the city, and just everyday life. Not only is the amenities of this resort beautiful, the people are the key to this amazing spot. Their wonderful staff are so warm and welcoming, the knowledge of the history, and area makes for a great conversation. The dinner was spectacular, very thoughtful on plating and dietary restrictions. They go out of their way with wine pairings, and I drink a lot of different wine, and their wine knowledge, history, pairing was absolutely perfect! I cannot say how wonderful this weekend was, and we will definitely be back, even if it?s just for dinner and wine one night, it?s that worth it! Thank you to all the amazing staff ??

The first time we've been with Gateway since Covid. Had reservations for 5:30 but were at 5:15. Our dinners meet the table at 6:20 and, at best, we? re lukewarm. Our group had salmon, chicken gnocchi and was fine, but not almost at the level as meals we had expected due to previous visits. We will allow them to have the same problems as many other companies with staff. The waitress was friendly and did what she could contribute to our experience. Something disappointed.
